Houston's Orchestra On Call
Houston's Orchestra On Call is comprised of volunteer musicians who bring symphonic music into medical settings throughout the Texas Medical Center and Greater Houston area.
Concerts take place in spaces such as lobbies, lounges, halls, auditoriums, events centers, gardens and parks.
The orchestra offers programs that provide opportunity for reflection, inspiration and education for the target audience and the membership. The repertoire ranges from classical to pops and seasonal.
Membership is open to musicians of all backgrounds and occupations who demonstrate interest in community building. Expected skill level is intermediate and up.
We welcome strings (violins, violas, cellos and basses), woodwinds (flutes, oboes, clarinets, bassoons), brass (horns, trumpets, trombones and tuba), harp and timpani.
Rehearsals take place on Mondays from 6:30pm to 8:45pm at Baylor College of Medicine, McNair Campus located on Cambridge and Old Spanish Trail in the medical center area. Parking is validated for all musicians.
